I started Medical Defectors for two reasons:
- To help Americans get the medical care they need in a time when we are often going without due to corporate greed in hospitals, insurance companies, and the pharmaceutical industry.
- To reduce the number of people paying the aforementioned greedy corporations as a form of boycott. My hope is that this will force the American healthcare industry into reform for the benefit of the working class, the elderly, the disabled, and those who, under the current system, are simply left to die.
I will be writing articles based on my personal experiences traveling and receiving healthcare in foreign countries, as well as based on intensive research I am performing to provide the most thorough, accurate information I can.
The types of topics I will cover will range from guides on how to secure medical visas and make appointments with foreign medical institutions, price comparisons between countries and regions for various procedures and treatments, recommendations on accommodation and lifestyle options for when you are living abroad for medical treatment, and more.
